Swem Library has instituted a new online registration and request system that will make it easier for patrons to use Special Collections services. Beginning Thursday, August 13, all visitors will be able to request rare books, manuscripts, archives and other special collections materials through the system.
William & Mary users (faculty, staff, and students) will be able to log-in with their W&M username and password. All other users will be asked to create a username and password.
Users must fill out a registration form with their contact information, present a current government or campus-issued photo identification card, and have their photograph taken. All provided information is stored strictly for verification purposes and will not be shared.
The new system will allow users to request materials online before their visit and maintain a record of materials they have used in the past.
