Tracy Melton '85

Tracy Melton graduated from William & Mary in 1985. During his senior year, Tracy met his wife Pam and became engaged on Crim Dell Bridge and married in Wren Chapel. He pursued his graduate degree in History at the University of Maryland at College Park. He also completed all requirements for a Ph.D., except the dissertation, which was eventually overtaken by the joys and workload of being a stay-at-home father for his three kids. He has written two books including Hanging Henry Gambrill: The Violent Career of Baltimore’s Plug Uglies, 1854-1860, and numerous articles, primarily on Baltimore in the nineteenth century. He is currently working on a couple of fun stories about the same place and time. Tracy and his family now reside in Williamsburg as their youngest daughter has transferred to William & Mary.
