RFID Project Student Assistant

We are excited to introduce a new-to-W&M Libraries technology: RFID tagged books. We need your help converting Swem Library’s 1.9 million item collection from barcode-based transactions to RFID tags. You will be pulling items to scan, tag and re-shelf. At times you may be working in teams of two.

This job is physically demanding and repetitive; accuracy and attention to detail are important. Book sizes range anywhere from <1 lb. to heavy. You will be working on your feet and some bookshelf ranges can be quite dusty, so wear comfortable shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

William & Mary values diversity and invites applications from underrepresented groups who will enrich the research, teaching and service missions of the university. The university is an Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action employer and encourages applications from women, minorities, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities.
