Here are the new accessions for 12/1/2010 through 12/30/2010, a little longer than normal due to the holiday rush:

• Mary Ellen Anderson Diary and other materials (Mss. Acc. 2010.712): Also included are 2 news clippings regarding predictions made by clairvoyants and one clipping with a recipe for facial cream. There is also a postcard featuring Betty Springer as well as well as a calling card with her name on it. An addition to the Mary E. Anderson Diary, Mss. Acc. 2010.605.
• Additions to the Chapin-Horowitz Cynogetica Collection (Mss. Acc. 2010.713, 2010.714, 2010.715)
• Advertising Labels (Mss. Acc. 2010.716, 2010.717): 2010.716 is an addition to the Racial and Ethnic Ephemera Collection, Mss. 1.05, and 2010.717 is an addition to the Ephemera Collection, Mss. 1.02.
• Raymond W. Vincent Letters (Mss. Acc. 2010.718): Letters, 1964-1966, of Raymond Vincent to a woman named June.  He is training on Kessler Air Force Base in Mississippi. Vincent is also a drummer and mentions that the gets his own room because of it.  He also mentions in the last letter that his orders have been cancelled.
• Diary (Portland, Maine) (Mss. Acc. 2010.719): Diary, 1892, of a patient named Binnie in Maine General Hospital in Portland, Maine. She described her life on the ward, her treatments, and the movements of other patients on and off of her ward.
• Peter Isaac East Diaries (Mss. Acc. 2010.720): Diaries, 1937-1941, of Peter Isaac East, a railroad worker from Terre Haute, Indiana. Primarily includes entries related to his work for the New York Central Railroad Company.
• Walter Mullikan Letters (Mss. Acc. 2010.721): Letters, 1942-1945, of Donald Mullikan written to his sister, Lois Mullikan.  Donald was stationed in multiple areas during the war, including the Canal Zone in Panama.
• James Poirier Letters (Mss. Acc. 2010.722): Letters, 1947 and 1951, of James Poirier, a soldier in the United States Army.  The first letter, written in 1947, is written from Japan.  The rest of the letters, dated 1951, are written from Korea.  Discusses, among other things, suicide, front line combat, and the destruction of Seoul. Also includes a piece of Korean money, which Poirier sent to his family.
• Glenna Blosser Diary (Mss. Acc. 2010.723): Diary, 1933, of Glenna Blosser of Indiana. Topics include Franklin D. Roosevelt's election and inauguration, the Long Beach Earthquake in March, and the crash of the Akron, a US navy airship.  She also mentions topics such as birthdays, her Christmas presents, school, and family illnesses, among others.
• An addition to the Hickory Neck Church Records (Mss. Acc. 2010.725)
• Pep Band Photographs (Acc. 2010.727): An addition to the University Archives Photograph Collection, UA 8.

• Eliza Porter Diary (Mss. Acc. 2010.729): Diary, 1927-1928, of Eliza Porter.  Topics include the weather, temperature, and a brief record of her daily activities. The end of the diary includes a record of financial transactions, including the purchase of a car.
• James F. Griffin Letters (Mss. Acc. 2010.730): Letters, 1951, of Lieutenant James F. Griffin of the United States Navy sent to his wife.  He seems to be a Navy airman who is stationed in England and he complains about the way is squadron is being run.
• Beatrice Nalser Letters (Mss. Acc. 2010.731): Letters, 1943-1945, written by Beatrice Nalser, who was a member of the WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) program.  Her letters were written from Norfolk, Virginia.
• Todd Weaver Collection (UA 5.145): This collection holds material about First Lieutenant Todd W. Weaver, a 2008 alumnus of the College of William and Mary '08, who died September 9, 2010, in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. The collection includes programs, news clippings, and related material from memorials, dedications, and other events. Included are a program and speech from the tree dedication ceremony at the College of William and Mary on November 14, 2010; an advertisement for the establishment of the 1st Lt. Todd W. Weaver Memorial Award by the College of William and Mary; news clippings; and other material. Two DVDs containing the memorial service at Williamsburg Community Chapel, on September 25, 2010, and the interment service at Arlington National Cemetery, on October 14, 2010, are housed in the University Archives Audiovisual Collection.
• Williamsburg Reunion Programs (Acc. 2010.735): An addition to the Williamsburg Reunion Collection, Mss. 1.01.

• Florence Ann Marquardt Scrapbook (Mss. Acc. 2010.741): Scrapbook, 1943, of Florence Ann Marquardt's trip to Biloxi, Mississippi and other locations.  Includes photographs, programs, ticket stubs, newspaper clippings, handwritten notes, and other related materials.
• Tribe Pride Bracelet (Acc. 2010.742): An addition to the University Archives Artifact Collection, UA 13.
• William and Mary Soccer Scarf (Acc. 2010.743): An addition to the University Archives Artifact Collection, UA 13.
• Michael Dennis Hoffman Letters (Mss. Acc. 2010.744): Letters, 1968-1969, of Michael Dennis Hoffman, a Private First Class in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. The first letters describe Hoffman's training, including shifts on guard duty, combat training, and equipment. During training he is stationed at Fort Lewis and Yakima Firing Center, both in Washington.  Hoffman is then sent to Vietnam and the letters from 15 June 1969 until the last letter, 25 August 1969, are sent from there.
• Thomas L. Williams Photographs (UA 6.106): Contains negatives, print photographs, publications, and other material collected and maintained by photographer Thomas L. Williams. The majority of the photographs were taken by Mr. Williams when he was the photographer for the College of William and Mary from the 1950s to the 1970s. Some of the topics covered in the negatives and photographs include the annual Charter Day, Commencement, and Homecoming ceremonies; many different views of campus including its buildings and grounds; and William and Mary faculty and alumni. The publications include information about the Tercentenary celebration at William and Mary in 1993, the 50th Anniversary edition of The Flat Hat in 1961, and a copy of They Gave us Freedom: A Loan Exhibition of Famous Portraits at the Christopher Wren Building, which was sponsored by William and Mary and Colonial Williamsburg.
• Diary (Medical) (Mss. Acc. 2010.746): Diary, 1934-1951, of the medical issues and remedies of an unknown male.  Includes listings of remedies from "Mother," "Nellie", and "Dad," as well as general remedies.  Also includes detailed notes of the visits with his doctor, which seem to occur weekly, as well as detailed notes about his condition and symptoms.
• Lelia Burnett Papers (Mss. Acc. 2010.768): Letters, journals, and other material relating to Lelia W. Burnett, who was at Miller School in Charlottesville, Virginia.  Letters primarily date from the 1880s and 1890s while the journals are from G.H. Farrar and date from the 1920s and 1930s.  Also included are woven strands of hair from unknown persons.
• Jennie Gore Diaries (Mss. Acc. 2010.769): Diaries, 1941 and 1962, of Jennie Gore, a teacher from Wartrace, Tennessee.  Includes brief entries about her daily life, including work matters, people with which she met, and her daily activities.  The 1941 diary also includes information about a road trip through Canada and the East Coast of the United States.
• Harriet M. Shultz Diary (Mss. Acc. 2010.770): Diary, 1914-1918, of Harriet M. Shultz of Logansport, Indiana.  Primarily focuses on her pregnancy, the birth of her daughter Jane, and her life after her daughter is born.  Also includes information about her husband, Harry Shultz.  There is also a negative of a man holding a baby, presumably Harry Shultz and Jane Shultz.
• Vernon Gertrude Wilson Papers (Mss. Acc. 2010.771): Diary, circa 1870s, of Vernon Gertrude Wilson. Includes poems and songs, presumably written by Vernon Gertrude Wilson. Many of the songs have religious themes, while others are about love and fidelity.
• Hiram Harris Letter (Mss. Acc. 2010.772): Letter, 1845, from Hiram Harris of Powhatan, Virginia, to Jordan Smith of Henderson, Kentucky.  Includes discussion of personal and financial matters, including the fact that Smith owes Harris money from the purchase of slaves.
• Lenoir County (North Carolina) Public School Register (Mss. Acc. 2010.773): Register, 1887-1894, of the Lenoir County, North Carolina, Public Schools. Includes list of students, ages of students, attendence records, and some grades for African-American students in the Lenoir County Public Schools.
• Master Machinist's Office (Norfolk, Va.) Ledger (Mss. Acc. 2010.774): Ledger, 1865-1869, of the Master Machinist's Office of the United States Navy in Norfolk, Va. Includes information about ship repairs, purchase of supplies, and other maintainence activities taken at the Norfolk Naval Base.
• William Eagles Papers (Mss. Acc. 2010.775): Letters, 1936 and 1962, written to William Eagles. The first batch of letters was written to Eagles by family members and friends while he was a student at Fork Union Military Academy in Fluvanna County, Virginia. The letters written in 1962 primarily deal with Eagles' work with Kiwanis International and include a letter from Davis Paschall, President of the College of William and Mary. There is also an undated photograph, presumably of William Eagles.
• Lewis Hobbs Letters (Mss. Acc. 2010.776): Letters, 1864-1865, of Lewis Hobbs, a member of the 11th Maine Regiment during the Civil War, written to his sister. The letters are written when Hobbs' unit is near Richmond, Virginia, including during the Bermuda Hundred Campaign. Topics include battles and skirmishes, injuries to soliders, and Hobbs' opinion of African-Americans.
• Hull Coal Company Records (Mss. Acc. 2010.777): Financial, legal, and business records, circa 1930s to 1940s, relating to the Hull Coal Company of Charlottesville, Virginia.  Includes bills, correspondence, environmental documents, and other materials.
• Keystone View Company's Tour of the World (Acc. 2010.778): An addition to the Racial and Ethnic Ephemera Collection, Mss. 1.05.
• Woman's Christian Temperance Union (Ft. Smith, Arkansas) Records (Mss. Acc. 2010.780): Minutes, correspondence, and printed material, 1882-1925, relating to a chapter of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
• Clinton Commandery Encampment #5 (Mt. Vernon, Ohio) Records (Mss. Acc. 2010.782): Membership ledger, 1843-1877, of the ClintonCommandery Encampment #5 of Mt. Vernon, Ohio. This group is a member of the Knights Templar, itself a member of the York Rite of Freemasonry, and can therefore be considered as a part of the general Freemasonry movement.
• W. L. Teter Papers (Mss. Acc. 2010.783): Ledgers, letterbooks, diaries, and other material, 1878-1920s, related to W. L. Teter of Pennsylvania and Goshen, Virginia. Teter was an inventor and these volumes contain his expenses and sketches and descriptions of various inventions, as well as details about his personal life.
