Click & Collect: Contact-Free Pickup

W&M Libraries provides contact-free pickup of library materials, such as books and media equipment for current W&M students, faculty and staff.

Who can use this service?

  • Current W&M students, faculty and staff - continue reading this page for more information
  • Community members - Click & Collect is slightly different for our community patrons. Please visit our Click & Collect for community members page for complete information

What can I request for pick up?

W&M students, faculty and staff may request materials held at all W&M libraries. Law items will be available for pick up at Wolf Law Library, and VIMS items at VIMS Hargis Library. Materials from all other branches (Business, Music, Chemistry, Physics, Learning Resource Center at the School of Education) will be available for pick up at Swem Library.

You may send someone else to pick up your items. Simply email swcirc@wm.edu authorizing the person to pick up, and we will add a note to your materials.

Where do I pick up my materials?

During Swem Library's planned pause (Dec. 14-18, 2020), W&M students, faculty and staff will only be able to collect items via curbside pickup, as the building will be closed. Pick up hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday between 9-11 a.m. at the back of Swem Library (look for "Click & Collect Pick Up" signage). Call the front desk at (757) 221-3072 when you arrive, and a library staff member will bring your requested materials to your car.

You can collect items at Swem Library - we're putting pickups on new shelves in the DVD section of Swem, next to the Circulation desk. Equipment may be picked up at the Media Center. For Law and VIMS libraries, you can collect items from 9AM-12:30PM at the Wolf Law Library, and on Thursdays, 1PM-4PM at VIMS Hargis Library. Click & Collect will be available for the fall semester.

Please follow health and safety guidelines when collecting library materials:

  • Wear a mask. Face coverings can be reusable or homemade cloth masks, dust masks, or surgical masks.
  • Maintain social distance of 6 feet.
  • Show your W&M ID for pick up.
