Book Delivery Service
Need a book that’s available at W&M Libraries? If you are studying remotely, we’ll mail it to you! Submit requests for materials owned by W&M Libraries through the W&M Libraries Search tool.
- When you find the item you need, sign into your library account to request it.
- Click the Request button located beside "Request Options". You may need to click on the library name in the Request box in order for the button to appear.
- Complete the request form. On the last line, indicate you'd like the item mailed to you:
We can deliver journal articles and book chapters from other libraries directly to you at no charge. Request non-W&M items through the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) portal.
Reeder Media Center Computers
Have a media project but you're studying remote? You can now use a Reeder Media Center computer remotely! You still need to book it online like you would a physical workstation or studio. When you make your reservation, please indicate in your request that you want to use it remotely.
Remember that remote access happens over a network, so it may not be as fast as using a computer in-person. You also won't be able to hear the computer sound.
Online Materials and Tools
W&M Libraries have thousands of books, articles, streaming audio and video, and more to support your curiosity and learning.
- W&M Libraries Search
Use the filters on the left-hand side of the search results screen to focus on books, eBooks, streaming audio or video, and other online resources. You can also use the “Online Only” tab to limit your results to those items that are only available online.
- Articles & Research Databases
We have hundreds of databases that provide access to digital articles, video, and more!
- Research Guides
Research Guides are lists of databases, links, and other resources that align with a particular subject or course.
- Off-Campus Access
If you are not on campus, you can still log in via the Libraries website using your W&M credentials to access library databases and other resources!
Renew Books Online
You can also renew your books online - just log into your Library Account. You will see your active loans displayed on the Loans section. Look for the title you need to renew and click renew. You can also renew all your active loans by selecting Renew All.
If you need help getting started or finding specific information or data for an assignment, reach out to the liaison librarian for your discipline for further assistance. Our Liaison Librarians can answer your questions through the Ask a Librarian chat service or as part of a remote research consultation (available via email or Zoom).
No need to fret about late fees - due dates for all items have been extended for those unable to come to campus. If you request mailed W&M Libraries materials, a UPS return label will be sent to you along with the materials. When you’re finished with them, you may pack your items in a box or mailer and drop them off at your nearest UPS location.
Graduating or non-returning students: You may also complete the Courtesy Returns Form and return your materials to any eligible college or university library within the state of Virginia, either by taking them into the library or placing them in the library’s book drop. That VA college/university library will mail your books back to W&M on your behalf. View a complete list of eligible Virginia colleges & universities.
If you lost your return label or you did not receive one, please contact email@example.com.
Materials can also be returned at Swem or any of the library book drops in the parking lot behind Swem, the front lobby of Swem, or the Wolf Law Library book return.
