William & Mary Libraries and Arts & Sciences are pleased to provide funding to cover the registration costs for up to five faculty and graduate students interested in attending the Digital Humanities Summer Institute, June 4-8, 11-15, 2018. DHSI provides an ideal environment for discussing and learning about new computing technologies and how they are influencing teaching, research, dissemination, creation, and preservation in different disciplines, via a community-based approach.
A time of intensive coursework, seminars, and lectures, participants at DHSI share ideas and methods, and develop expertise in using advanced technologies. Every summer, the institute brings together faculty, staff, and students from the Arts, Humanities, Library, and Archives communities as well as independent scholars and participants from areas beyond.
Important Notes:
- Registration is for only one course. (A DHSI course runs daily for the duration of a week, so only one course can be taken at a time)
- The Institute offers courses for any skill level. “Foundations” courses are appropriate for those new to Digital Humanities, requiring only a basic knowledge of computing tools and methods. Some offerings have specific requisite skills and/or expectations and, in such cases, these are outlined in course description.
Apply online by 5 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018. Decisions will be made by 5 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018.
