Martha Jefferson's letter, written during the Revolutionary War while her husband Thomas Jefferson was Governor of Virginia, tries to arouse her countrywomen to the war cause. Martha Jefferson's letter is probably written to St. George Tucker's first wife, Frances Bland Randolph Tucker, and is one of the few surviving letters of Martha Jefferson.
