Swem Library
Swem Library is the main library on campus, and is located at 400 Landrum Drive.

Accessible Parking
Behind Swem Library, there are four accessible parking spots on Landrum Drive, directly across from the accessible entrance. There are two additional accessible parking places in the paid lot behind Swem.
Building Access
Entrance: Swem has an accessible entrance at the back of the building with an automatic-open door, and is close to accessible parking. Please ring the bell by the door for access. If you need staff to meet you at the entrance, please contact our circulation desk so that we can make arrangements ahead of time.
The front entrance of Swem has two ADA-compliant ramps as well as an automatic door.
Access between floors: All floors of Swem are accessible via elevator.
Restrooms: Restrooms have wheelchair accessible stalls, toilets and sinks. Two all-gender restrooms are available on the first floor in Aromas. An additional two are available on the ground floor near the accessible entrance.
Wheelchairs and Mobility Equipment
Push wheelchairs are available, and staff members are available for pushing for a limited amount of time. Please contact us in advance to make arrangements. You are welcome to bring your own wheelchair and park it in the library while you walk around. Please ask at the circulation desk for suggested locations where your chair will be secure.
All public service areas are wheelchair-accessible, and there are several public computer stations on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors that are wheelchair-accessible.
Carts are available from the circulation desk if you need help moving a large number of items.
Emergency Gathering Places
In case of emergency, the first, second, and third floors of the library have designated gathering places in the two main stairwells (next to the elevators) as well as the stairwell by Special Collections. Use the call box to alert emergency personnel that you need assistance exiting the building.
Learning Resource Center
The Learning Resource Center (LRC) is located in the School of Education on the second floor in room 2076. For assistance, please contact the LRC.

The lots next to the building have accessible parking and are close to the side entrances.

McLeod Business Library
The McLeod Business Library is located on the second floor of Alan B. Miller Hall in room 2034. For assistance, please contact the Business Library.
Accessible Parking
Accessible parking spaces are available in the lot directly across from the entrance to Miller Hall on Ukrop Way.

The Chemistry Reading Room is located in the Integrated Science Center (ISC), 1st floor, Room 1022

Physics Library
The Physics Library is located in Small Hall, 1st floor, Room 151. Please contact Swem Library’s research desk or the Physics Department Office at 757-221-3500.
Accessible Parking:
Accessible parking is available on Ukrop Way behind Small Hall and in the parking garage across the street on Ukrop Way.
Building access:
Entrance: Accessible entry on Ukrop Way side of the building, on the ground floor. Additionally, the entrance to Small Hall that is across from the Muscarelle has a ramp with railing and an automatic-open door. Inside this entrance is a self-operated chair-lift to provide access to the rest of the 1st floor, including the Physics Library.
Access between floors: All floors are accessible via elevator.
Restrooms: Restrooms have wheelchair accessible stalls, toilets and sinks. There is also an all-gender restroom in the basement near room 064 and elevator 1.
