Hardy Hall is a residence hall, which borders Jamestown Road. It was originally named Jamestown North, as part of the Jamestown Residences, completed in 2006. In April 2016, the Board of Visitors unanimously approved a resolution renaming Jamestown North in honor of Carroll Hardy, a tireless advocate for diversity at William & Mary and long-serving administrator in Student Affairs. [1]

President Taylor Reveley announced the proposed renaming of the Jamestown Residences in a campus-wide message related to a report by the university’s Task Force on Race and Race Relations. [2]
