Lemon Hall

Lemon Hall is a residence hall, which borders Jamestown Road. It was originally named Jamestown South, as part of the Jamestown Residences, completed in 2006. In April 2016, the Board of Visitors unanimously approved a resolution renaming Jamestown South in memory of Lemon, an enslaved man owned by William & Mary. [1]

W. Taylor Reveley III announced the proposed renaming of the Jamestown Residences in a campus-wide message related to a report by the university’s Task Force on Race and Race Relations. [2]
