Max Blitzer
Max Blitzer was a student at William & Mary from 1911-1914. He was business manager of the student newspaper, The Flat Hat in 1912 and in 1913 became its Editor-in-Chief.
In October, 1912, he was selected to be the baseball team’s manager and in December, 1912, he was elected the assistant manager of the Colonial Echo, the College’s year book. In 1913 he was the Junior Class Historian for the Colonial Echo. According to the 1914 Colonial Echo Blitzer belonged to the Tobacco Chewers Club, Northern Lights, and Monogram clubs. He was elected “Busiest Man”. He had two poems printed in the 1914 Colonial Echo.
In a story in the October 27, 1914, issue of the Flat Hat titled “A Little Journey into the Homes of 100 William and Mary Alumni”, Max Blitzer was “in business in New York”. Blitzer served as special assistant to William and Mary President Julian A. C. Chandler in 1932-1933 and was later the project manager of Jersey Homesteads.
