18th Century

Apparently the biggest problem with moving to the College of William and Mary when Thomas Jefferson was a student at the College was the fact that students often showed up with their own horses and dogs which were forbidden by the masters (professors) of the College. Once they were moved in the student’s biggest problem seemed to be getting enough to eat and not losing their clothes in the confusion of the laundry done for them by the Housekeeper.
