Ebenezer Baptist Church

Ebenezer Baptist Church is located in Portsmouth, Virginia. It was founded in January 1865. The first congregationist were John W. Godwin, Dennis Morris, his wife and son, Phyllis Ackins, John Williams and Susan King. "They became Portsmouth's first independent colored congregation."
