Learn, Create, and Explore with Media

The Reeder Media Center supports student learning across coursework, research, creative expression, and personal projects. Many students connect with us while working on a class assignment; others return to build new skills or explore ideas through media.

Support is available at every stage—from early exploration to revision and refinement.

How We Support Student Learning

Project Consultations

Meet with a media educator to talk through ideas, workflows, story structure, or production questions. Consultations are available for individuals or groups and support both class and independent projects.

Workshops & Learning Sessions

We offer hands-on workshops that introduce media skills, storytelling approaches, and production practices. Sessions range from short introductions to extended labs and develop throughout the semester.

Workshop offerings change over time and often respond to student interest and course needs.

Learning Support & Skill Development

Media skills grow through practice, reflection, and revision. We support learning by:

  • Exploring tools in the context of projects
  • Practicing recording, editing, and design techniques
  • Thinking through how choices shape meaning and audience experience

Some learning happens through workshops, and some through one-on-one conversations.

Studios & Equipment

Students can reserve recording spaces, borrow equipment, and use collaborative work areas to support media projects.

Not Sure Where to Start?

If you’re beginning a project or feeling stuck in the messy middle of one, a short conversation can help clarify next steps.
