Born in Havana in 1984, Alejandro Rodríguez Fornés “Alucho,” is a prolific graphic designer and an important figure in the use of emerging technologies and digital art in Cuban graphic design. He graduated from Havana’s Instituto Superior de Diseño in 2008. He has worked as a designer for the magazines Literatura y Arte Unión and La Jiribilla, the publishers Gente Nueva and Abril, and the International School of Film and Television in San Antonio de los Baños, as well as the Cuban Institute of Art and Cinematography. His work has been featured in international festivals in Mexico, Bolivia, Ecuador, Turkey, Spain, and Russia among others, and he has participated in exhibitions in Cuba and abroad. In 2014, he won the Bronze Medal at the 13th biennial International Poster Festival in Mexico. He is a member of the National Union of Writers and Authors of Cuba (UNEAC) and currently works in the office of Images and Communication at the Casa de las Américas. This is his first solo exhibit in the United States.

Nacido en la Habana en 1984, Alejandro Rodríguez Fornés “Alucho”, es un diseñador gráfico prolífico y un figura importante en el uso de tecnologías emergentes y arte digital en el diseño gráfico cubano. Graduado del Instituto Superior de Diseño en 2008, ha trabajado como diseñador en las revistas de Literatura y Arte Unión y La Jiribilla, las editoriales Gente Nueva y Abril, y en la Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio de los Baños y el Instituto Cubano del Arte e Industria Cinematográficos. Sus carteles han sido seleccionados en festivales internacionales de México, Bolivia, Ecuador, Turquía, España y Rusia, entre otros y han formado parte de varias exposiciones colectivas dentro y fuera de Cuba. En 2014 fue ganador de la medalla de bronce en la 13ra Bienal Internacional del Cartel de México. Es miembro de la Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba. Actualmente trabaja en la oficina de comunicación e imagen de la Casa de las Américas. Este es su primer exhibición solo en los Estados Unidos.
