Mystical, Magical, Mysterious

The Mademoiselle Zare Papers
Duration:
March 22, 2018 to April 18, 2018

Mademoiselle Zare, a psychic from Chicago, Illinois, worked throughout the 1930s and 1940s. Though we do not know many details about her life, her notes and papers give us an idea of the work she did. Mademoiselle Zare practiced fortune-telling, presumably used Ouija boards and crystal balls, and was well-versed in astrology and phrenology. The Mademoiselle Zare Papers give us a peek into the life of a woman who not only worked for herself, but made a living telling customers the secrets that could be uncovered in the palm of their hand.
