Welcome to The World of James Monroe Online!

The World of James Monroe Online (WJMO) expands access to the written record of James Monroe and advances scholarship of the fifth President of the United States of America and the complex world in which he lived. A collaboration between James Monroe’s Highland and the Special Collections Research Center at William & Mary Libraries, WJMO offers free open access to digital versions of original documents paired with full-text transcriptions in a searchable online interface, along with contextual and research information.

Funding

This project is the grateful recipient of funding from private donors and the National Society of the Children of the American Revolution (NSCAR), who sponsored it as the 2018 annual project of National President Erin Moore.
