Why I love working at Swem

My name is Sarah Wicker and I am a freshman at William & Mary. I am a student associate in the circulation department, so you will often see me at the front desk to answer questions, check out books, or help you find something. I grew up loving libraries, and I always have two or three books in my bag (for emergencies of course). I have a passion for mathematics and art, and I currently intend to major in both subjects.

The best part of working at the library is certainly the patrons and the people I work with. I always leave work a little sad that I have to go. People are always researching the coolest things, and it is incredible to hear people talk about their passion for what they are studying. I truly believe I could spend four years here and still not know everything Swem is able to offer. I am very grateful to work in such a fantastic place with so many free resources.

My favorite place to study in the library is in the Research Area by the big window with the bird manuals. I love to pick up a hot chocolate from Aromas and work in the sunshine or stare at the rain.

I love to talk, so if you see me at the desk feel free to come by and say hello!
