Vanderbilt TV News Archive (Must Create Account Using W&M Email Address)

The Vanderbilt TV News Archive began operations on August 5, 1968 with the mission to record, preserve, and provide research access to news programs broadcast by national television networks in the United States.The core collection of the archive consists of regularly scheduled evening newscasts from ABC (since 1968), CBS (1968), NBC (1968), CNN (1994), Fox News (2004), MSNBC (2024), and NewsMax (2024). Additionally, the Special Reports Collection includes television news coverage of major national and world events, such as political conventions, election coverage, presidential speeches, and military conflicts. The database currently includes over 1.5 million records, including story level abstracts for evening newscasts and catalog records for special reports.Users must create an account using their @wm.edu email address. In order to view a clip, users must add the clip to their basket and checkout, after which the clip will be added to their account and should be viewable within a few minutes if not instantaneously. Users are limited to 2400 minutes of viewing per month.
