On Saturday, Oct. 18 we invite you to our Children's Author Breakfast, part of the Mary Mitchell Speaker Series, from 9-11 a.m. in the library's Read & Relax area (first floor). Enjoy breakfast with Jennifer O'Connell, author of The Eye of the Whale: A Rescue Story and Ten Timid Ghosts. The event will include a presentation from the author and a book signing. O'Connell is a 2014 winner of the Green Earth Book Award for picture books, a national recognition of authors and illustrators whose books best inspire young readers to appreciate and care for the environment. She is also winner of the 2013 Moonbeam Gold Award for non-fiction - animals. This award brings recognition to exemplary children's books and their creators, and to support childhood literacy and life-long reading.
