The Joseph Hennage Collection of Books on Printing is made up of nearly 200 volumes, some of which date from the earliest years of the trade, including the library’s oldest book: Johannes Gritsch’s Quadragesimale (1479), a collection of sermons for Lent. American and English titles on the history and practical aspects of printing are emphasized. Related rare book collections are the Ralph Green Collection of Books on Printing and the Carol Beinbrink Collection of Books on Papermaking.
