Blind Data With a Book Display

Swem Lobby

Need a good read to cozy up to for Valentines? Join W&M Libraries in celebrating International Love Data Week by visiting the library lobby and checking out our Blind Data with a Book Display. We've gathered a selection of fun reads, disguised them in festive paper with a few descriptive words to spark your interest and some helpful data points. The books go fast, so stop by early! The display will be up until Sunday, February 15th.

Friday, February 13th

Messy Data Panel: A Love-Hate Relationship with Spatial Data

Ford Classroom, ground floor of Swem Library, 1-2pm

To celebrate International Love Data Week, CGA is excited to host a panel discussing a side of data we all know and may not love: messy data! We will be welcoming Williamsburg GIS Administrator Harrison Williams, graduate student Cyrus Hulen, and Dr. Katy Rossiter to hear about their various perspectives and experiences working with disorganized spatial data. Together, the panelists will illuminate some of the common problems faced by those working in federal and local sectors as well as independent research fields. Bring your questions; there will be pizza! Register before the event.
