This month three dozen local teens attended film production workshops at Swem Library, receiving guidance, tips and hands-on experience in video production. The library offered the workshops to assist teens participating in the William & Mary Global Film Festival youth filmmaking project.
The workshops, held in Swem’s Media Center, covered pre-production, production and post-production processes. Students were able to work on their original footage using the center's equipment. View photos from the workshops on the Swem Media Center Flickr page.
The Global Film Festival’s youth filmmaking project is designed to encourage and assist teens in producing short films about the things they love to do. Selected films will be screened and judged by a jury of local and guest celebrity filmmakers, with teen filmmakers eligible for prizes and awards.
The festival, to be held Feb. 14-17 at the Kimball Theatre, will feature films from around the world, live performances, receptions and presentations by invited filmmakers.
