Dinner Roundtable Discussion

The Future of Birthright Citizenship and the Fourteenth Amendment

The Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution provides birthright citizenship. On January 20, 2025, President Trump signed an executive order challenging birthright citizenship, alleging that “the privilege of United States citizenship does not automatically extend to persons born in the United States.” This dinner conversation will allow for law experts at William & Mary Law School and constitutional law experts around the nation to engage in a conversation on the consequences of this executive order.
