Swem Library welcomes all our new and returning students, staff, and faculty!
We have lots of "newness" for you. Here are highlights:
- Dean: A new Dean of University Libraries, Carrie Cooper, who joined us August 1.
- Webpages: New library webpages for a whole new look.
- Library Catalog: A new interface option for our library catalog, along with a new look for the "classic catalog."
- Group Study Room LCD Screens: New screens in four of our popular group study rooms. These are a great way to work collaboratively on a document or presentation.
- Projectors: 4 new projectors you can check out at the circulation desk. Take a projector and your friends to a group room or anywhere in the library.
- Databases: Several new databases, many that provide primary source material. Two of the new databases are American History in Video and Contemporary Women's Issues, both provided through VIVA, the Virtual Library of Virginia.
- Database Interface: A new interface for several of our databases, including Sociological Abstracts, EconLit, PAIS, and Dissertations & Theses. These databases are now provided by ProQuest.
- RefWorks: A new edition -- 2.0 -- of this bibliographic manager tool. To try the new version, log in to your RefWorks account and click on the RefWorks 2.0 link in the upper right corner.
