Three Exhibits to Close September 30

Visit Swem Library now to see Irrepressible Conflict or Blundering Generation? The Coming of the Civil War, The Road from "Separate but Equal" to "With All Deliberate Speed": Civil Rights in Public Education, and  ‘Prejudice so prevalent in the present generation’: Slavery at the College of William & Mary before they close September 30, 2011. These are the first exhibits in Swem Library's from "From Fights to Rights: The Long Road to a More Perfect Union" project.  "From Fights to Rights" is our project to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War and the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement that runs through 2015.

You can find more about this project on this page. The exhibits are open to the public in the Marshall Gallery in Swem Library’s first floor rotunda whenever the library is open. The portion of the exhibit in the Special Collections Research Center’s lobby is open more limited hours. Visit our website for details. Admission is free.
