Open access allows free global access to articles and scholarly research, as well as the right to use that material. It increases the exposure and use of published works, advances scholarship, and assists with further research. Scholars around the world strive to make open access the norm to provide valuable information to all people, as well as gain a wider audience for their work. Open Access Week provides awareness and an opportunity to take action.
