Call for Proposals: Rich Media Mini-Grants

William & Mary is pleased to announce a series of grants to assist faculty in expanding their use of rich media to enhance student learning. These grants are made possible by a collaboration among the Swem Library, Academic Information Services, and the Roy Charles Center. Applications are welcome from any instructional faculty member interested in using methods of instruction that incorporate components such as animation, sound, video, and/or graphics into an integrated experience that enhances student learning.

We encourage faculty to apply who:

  • Are new to using rich media,
  • Have a project idea that adds new dimensions or improvements to existing teaching methods, and who
  • Have relatively small project ideas that can be completed and tested within one semester.

Up to 10 grants will be awarded during the spring 2012 term. Each grant will be for $1500, including a $750 stipend for the instructor and up to $750 in related costs for hardware, software, student labor, or other expenses. Funds should be utilized in 2012 (spring, summer, or fall semesters).

Applications will be accepted via web form beginning January 25th and the review of applications will begin on February 2nd. Review of applications will continue until available funds are committed.
