יא מוחרקין בשמע כדי מוחבה * קום תחרקו
ומדאמעי תטפיהא * אחרק ביהא גסמי וכל

يا موحرقين بشمع خدي موحبه * قوم تحرقو
ومدامعي تطفيها * احرق بيها جسمي وكل
امافصلي * واشفوك علا قلبي * لايينيك فيهي ***
English Translation
O those who burn with love in the candle of my cheeks:
rise and burn, and my tears will extinguish it!
My body burned in it as did my joints.
Have pity on my heart, be gentle on it.

يا مُحرقين بشمع خدي موحبة
قوم تحرقوا ومدامعي تطفيها
احرق بها جسمي وكل مفاصلي
واشفق على قلبي لاينِك فيه
Notes:
1. This ṭarīq makes mention of the same phrase, “Alert your companion,” that is mentioned at the beginning of the previous ṭarīq. Our assumption is that both ṭarīqs are in the same mode as embodied by a song whose opening phrase was “Alert your companion.”
